The Moray Schools Pipes and Drums Tuition Scheme

This scheme aims to:

Offer pupils in Moray’s primary and secondary schools the chance to learn the pipes and drums during the school day;
Open pathways to music-making in school pipe bands and other musical groups, as well as to community pipe bands. We hope that in the future a Moray Schools Pipe Band will meet and perform on occasion;
Support pupils to achieve SQA accredited qualifications in piping and snare drumming through the Curriculum for Excellence and the PDQB (Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board), thereby helping to raise attainment and open up pathways to higher education in these subjects;
Support young people to raise attainment and achievement, and build self-esteem, social networks, resilience and confidence.
